Help me choose the next polish to post!

Sexy clear coat chipping! Photo is clickable.

I apologize for abandoning this blog. Life got crazy and I just didn't have the time. I haven't been taking care of my nails since I last posted. They're way too long for my liking and need a good shaping. Luckily, they are seemingly unbreakable, so I don't see having to start from nubbins again anytime soon. I think that might have to do with the fact that I'm 15 weeks pregnant and my prenatal vitamins make magic happen. :)

My daughter had a second eye surgery on Friday. It went well. Hopefully she won't need another.

ANYWAY! I do want to bring this blog back from the dead. I have amassed so many new polishes (mostly thanks to my beautiful sister-in-law, Colleen) that I am having trouble choosing one to write a post around. I could really use some help, and I'd love it if you guys could check out my stash and let me know which polish(es) you'd like to see. I have a good 200+ polishes that aren't listed there yet, but I'm trying to get it caught up!

I have missed you all, and hope someone is still reading this! I still have all of the goodies for the planned 100 follower giveaway, so if that milestone is ever reached, expect a post on that!

Still here!

A quick update for you guys on my daughter's surgery (strabismus correction in both eyes.) She had it on Monday and everything is looking good so far. She did great with the anesthesia, but she's not a fan of the ointment we have to put in her eyes.

I obviously haven't had time to post in here for a long time. My last bunch of posts are full of excuses and promises for more posts, but I haven't been able to deliver. We moved into a much nicer apartment about a week and a half ago, which is fantastic because our old place was full of mold. Most of what we own is still in boxes, but even if I could get to my polish I don't have the time to do my nails. I've had many epic breaks since the move because I haven't been able to apply Nail Growth Miracle. My follower count has been dropping like flies. I don't want to delete this blog because I do enjoy posting here, my posts are just going to continue to be few and far between until we're more settled.

Thanks for sticking with me, for those of you that have. I do still have all of the things I bought for a 100 follower giveaway and I do still plan to have that. It's just going to take a while to get it totally together.

Essie - Lapiz of Luxury (and personal update)

Photo is clickable.

Lapiz of Luxury is my first Essie polish. This photo shows 4 coats over Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle with a top coat of Seche Vite. The Seche caused MAJOR bubbling (and a weird crack on my left index finger that chose to photograph like a hair?) I really love this color, but it's was a pain to apply. Obviously I was rushing (DOESN'T MY APPLICATION LOOK DEVINE?!) so it could've been partially me and partially a pastel being a pastel. Regardless, I love the color.

On a personal note, we've found a way out of our terrible apartment. An old high school friend posted a scan of an ad from a Boston news paper showing apartments for rent in the area we've always wanted to live in. I called the number and we've been viewing different units for a week or so. The owner is ridiculously nice and cut down the rent for us AND is giving us two months free with no security deposit. Our credit check just went through yesterday, and we're moving in on Saturday. The only downside is that my husband only had yesterday off this week and we only got about 35% of our stuff packed. -_-

Update and giveaway reminder

Happy new year, everyone! I am hoping to have the time to resume regular posting soon. I have not yet gotten in contact with my daughter's ophthalmologist, but once I do we will have a game plan and I'll know what sort of free time I'll have in the coming months. The MRI we had right before Christmas came back 100% normal, so that's a very good sign. I have the flu right now, but the baby is doing well.

I see a lot of you have entered my giveaway! I have been keeping a running list of entries but haven't been able to validate them yet. The giveaway will close tomorrow, though a winner will not be pulled until a later date. I want to take a second to remind you all that if you're not following me publicly I can't enter you in the giveaway. I don't want to have to remove any names from the entries list, so please be sure you read the giveaway entry carefully and abide by the rules!

My cat just puked all over my apartment, so I guess that means I'm done posting for now. -_-

I will not be around for a while...

I've posted previously about the concerns we have regarding my daughter's health. Today I noticed something strange and new going on with her eyes, so I called her ophthalmologist. The doctor, in turn, called her pediatrician. They are both extremely concerned and are trying to get my baby in to get scans done right away. We will then, depending on the results of the scans, need to take her to an neurologist or a surgeon. I will not have free time to make posts for a little while. I hope you guys understand.

I am going to keep the giveaway open, it just may take longer than expected to pull a winner.

Personal post...

Hi, everyone. I really want to be posting in here every day, but I've had some stuff going on in my personal life and haven't had the time. I thought I'd put up a quick post explaining what's been going on. I am house/dog (the one who had the seizure is okay, by the way!) sitting for my mother tomorrow and Saturday so I hope to get a bunch of photos and reviews done and set to post. There is a wall of text ahead, so feel free to just skip this post if you have trouble reading this kind of babble.

Have I mentioned before that I have an eight month old? She's actually 8 months old today. She has congenital esotropia and we have had to patch her for a few hours a day to try to avoid development of amblyopia. The plan has always been to operate on her eyes once she is big enough to withstand anesthesia. She has recently started this really weird head bobbing thing, and her ophthalmologist noticed it at her last appointment. She's not sure what it could be, but said she will need multiple brain scans in Boston as soon as they can see us (February). I've made the mistake of googling this, and the word "tumor" was thrown around a lot on a few sites. I've been freaking out and crying a lot since the doctor told us it is a concern. Nobody in my life understands how hard this is for me. My husband and my mom keep telling me to stop dwelling on it, but how can I? This is my baby. I know I might be worrying about nothing, but I can't help it. I'm a stay at home mom and this little girl is my best friend. I'm tearing up just typing this. Sigh.

My husband and I have been fighting a lot lately, too. He's been really insensitive and hasn't been helping me with our daughter at all. He works long hours and doesn't seem to understand that I don't sit at home all day eating bonbons and watching tv. Being a stay at home parent is a lot of work. I need a break sometimes, too! My little girl is exclusively breastfed (she eats some solids now, too, though) so whenever my husband has her and doesn't want to deal with her squirming or fussing he throws out the "SHE'S HUNGRY!" card, because he knows that's the only thing he couldn't help her with so I'd have to take her. It's really frustrating.

On top of all of this I broke four of my nails down to the quick last night and ended up having to cut them all down. I have a growth product thing I will be reviewing (post about it will be up once I can determine results/lack of results) so I'm planning on using this annoyance as a chance to get a good review on this stuff.

I don't expect anyone has made it this far, but if you have, thank you. I appreciate all of you that read and follow this blog. I promise to be back on topic soon.
