Gradient mani: Take 2!

I think gradients are a new obsession of mine. I don't think I'm going to be able to stop doing them until I figure out how to do it really really well. I got paint all over my cuticles. Bah.

This one isn't clickable. It was my 365 photo for my personal blog yesterday, and I thought I'd include it.

Yellow: L.A. Colors Live
Orange: Confetti Papa-razzi
Red: All Heart

What kind of brush is the best for cleanup? I've never cleaned up my nails and the way I post them is the way I paint them, but I'd like to start making things look a little cleaner.

My first gradient attempt

I think this came out pretty good for a first try! I've always liked the look of gradient manis, and I figured today was as good a day as any to attempt one. Before I try this again I'm going to pick up some Seche Vite to level the bumpiness that the sponging left on the nail.

I think my camera is dying. It won't focus on anything and it's driving me crazy. :(

Confetti - Papa-razzi

Orange? On my nails? It's more likely than you'd think! This is Confetti's Papa-razzi.

All of these photos were taken in natural light.

Papa-razzi is a two-coater. I had no problems with the formula and application was a breeze. This is my first orange polish ever. I was never a big fan of this color on me, but this polish has definitely opened up a new world of polish possibilities to me. I think I see more orange in my future.

Confetti - My Favorite Martian

I've missed you guys! I hope you missed me, too. My nails had grown to a length they hadn't reached since long before I got married while I was on my break from blogging. The night I decided to start swatching again I got a MAJOR break. I can't stand having one super short nail, so I had to cut them all back down. The cold weather is doing a number on my hands and cuticles, but I'm trying to keep up with it the best I can. I'll have to do a day-by-day photo post to show the growth I get with my new favorite product. But that's a post for another day!

Today I'm going to show you the first green polish I've owned and liked, Confetti's My Favorite Martian.

All of these photos were taken in natural light.

My Favorite Martian is pretty sheer, but it dries quickly and is easily buildable. These photos show three coats. I didn't have any problems with the formula. I only own a few Confetti polishes and I haven't worn any for a significant amount of time, so I'm not sure about how this stuff wears. All I know is that this is a really pretty polish!

Confetti - Purple Pizzazz

I wasn't kidding when I told you guys that my nails are completely gone now. I'm using Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle and I will be taking daily photos to see if it works. Hopefully with this new product (and daily prenatal vitamins) my nails will be back on track soon. I'm going to do some work on my cuticles tonight, too. They're getting to be pretty gross again. :(

Today I threw on Confetti Purple Pizzazz to show you. When I say "threw on" I mean slapped on as quickly as I could while my baby was asleep. Please forgive the horrible application! It's a pretty lilac with an almost foil-like finish.

I really like the way this looks, even though it's very very sheer (photos show three coats) and takes quite a while to dry. I think it would be nice on toes during the spring.
